The stay was quite interesting, especially with the room offering views overlooking a busy main road which was a bit loud at times. I enjoyed the proximity to the local eateries and shops. it made dining out really convenient after a day of exploring. On the plus side, communication with the staff was good, and they were accommodating when I had questions.

The room was decent, but those steep stairs were a workout with luggage!

i almost thought about giving a good review, but the room was freezing cold and didn’t warm up, absolutely unacceptable. also, the steep stairs were a real challenge with heavy luggage. i expected a welcome gift or at least a room upgrade for all the trouble. such a disappointment from The Townhouse!

This hotel was an excellent fit for a weekend trip in Amsterdam, providing great value for money. The staff were super friendly, making check-in a breeze and ensuring I felt welcome right away. Try to book a room away from the main street to avoid noise from passing tourists at night.

explore amsterdam's attractions with ease from this central base
the staff were super helpful, and having a tram right outside the hotel made it so easy to explore iconic spots like the Rijksmuseum in less than a 15-minute walk, while the nearby cafes and restaurants created a vibrant atmosphere for evening strolls.

The breakfast is a highlight, especially the famous scrambled eggs that shouldn't be missed, and the cleanliness of the room was commendable with a good amount of space to store belongings.
There were a few steep stairs to navigate, which can be a challenge for those with heavy luggage or mobility issues. Some rooms have persistent mosquito problems, and there seems to be a lack of communication about that, as it appears to be a known issue. the overall decor could use an update, and basic amenities like drinking water weren't readily available in the rooms.
